Our Legacy: 50+ Years of Innovation
Setcom’s history is defined by continuous innovation and deep collaboration with the people who rely on our equipment every day.

1970s — The Beginning
Setcom is founded in Mountain View, California and launches its first police motorcycle communication system, setting a new standard for officer safety and clarity.Â
1980s — Fire Apparatus Intercoms
Recognizing a critical need for crew safety in high-decibel environments, we expand into the fire service market. Setcom develops some of the industry’s first dedicated fire apparatus intercom systems. Engineered to withstand extreme heat, moisture, and the deafening roar of sirens and diesel engines, these rugged systems allow firefighters to communicate clearly en route to a scene while protecting their hearing. The technology quickly becomes a trusted staple in fire departments nationwide.
